Haynes-LaMotte Psychology, PLLC
Meeting you where you're at
Hi there! I'm Dr. Adam Haynes-LaMotte
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington. I am passionate about bringing focused and effective therapy right to clients' homes via telehealth.
I work with adults (18+) and provide both individual and couple therapy. With individuals, my clinical specialty areas include:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Persistent Anger
-
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
I know just how exhausting the search for the right therapist can be. On this site I provide information about my practice to help you determine whether my services sound like the right fit for you.
Why Telehealth?
Doing therapy over secure video calls offers several benefits:
-
Greater convenience for clients
-
No commute needed
-
Affords therapist greater flexibility for scheduling
-
Connects clients in remote areas with services
Additionally, research comparing in-person with video therapy sessions has found both to be equally effective for a range of different clinical concerns.
For telehealth to be a good option for you, the two main things you need are:
1. An internet connection that supports video calls
2. A space that is private for you to do the session
Services
Individual Therapy
If you have been feeling anxious, depressed, or continually angry, I will:
-
help you manage these experiences and reduce their impact on you
-
give you treatment strategies that you can use even after therapy has ended
-
help you better understand yourself and your patterns
If you are troubled by trauma memories and and spent a lot of energy trying to stop thinking about it, I will:
-
use proven effective therapies to treat your PTSD symptoms
-
help you face traumatic memories and negative thoughts in a safe and systematic way
Couple Therapy
No relationship is perfect, and any couple can benefit from couple therapy.
Couple therapy may be right if you've been noticing increased conflict with your partner, growing distance from them, or if there are larger issues that seemed to be managed day-to-day but not resolved.
I use a method of therapy called Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, which works by:
-
helping both partners develop a fuller understanding of themselves, each other, and the relationship
-
guiding both partners through difficult and emotionally-charged conversations
-
helping both partners understand their role in relationship patterns and develop ways around them
